Ronald
McDonald House Charities of Norfolk Receives $18,000 from Macy’s
Local RMHC Benefits from Macy’s
Holiday Give-Back Campaign
Norfolk,
VA – RMHC of Norfolk recently received $18,000 as a part of
Macy’s 2007 national Thanks For Sharing holiday gifts
rewards program.
The Macy’s program, which kicked
off last September, gave their customers the opportunity to give
back to charities in their local communities when they enrolled in
the program at their favorite Macy's store and online.
This was the first year that the local Ronald McDonald House was
involved in the national program, which has raised $37 million for
local communities over the past five years.
For each
Thanks for Sharing
program member, Macy’s makes a $10 donation to the participating
charities. In
February and March, all program participants should have received
their special Reward Card that can be used toward future Macy’s
purchases.
The
funds donated to the Norfolk Ronald McDonald House will help
continue the House’s mission of providing a home away from home for families with children
facing medical challenges and receiving treatment in local
facilities. This money will also help to furnish programs that
directly improve the health and well being of children.
Macy’s
Thanks for Sharing debuted as a Macy’s initiative in 2003
– a distinctive effort from which customers benefit during the
holiday season, and charities benefit throughout the year. For a
$25 enrollment fee, Macy’s cardholders earn a 10 percent reward
on most Macy's and macys.com net purchases that were made with
their Macy’s credit card during the holiday shopping season.
